The Alumni Association of Grinnell College was established in 1879 with 151 charter members. Today the association, headed by the Alumni Association Council, includes more than 18,000 active class members living in every state of the union, various U.S. territories, and 68 other countries. The alumni volunteersclass agents, fund directors, Asa Turner chairs, class committees, regional planning committees, alumni admission representatives, career development volunteers, and class committee membersall work to encourage support for the College. The College provides its alumni with such services as The Grinnell Magazine, coordination of regional activities, promotion of regular class reunions, alumni awards, and classletters.
