Grinnell College's Expenditures for 2008-09

FY09 expenditures The College budget is prepared each fall and put into place the following July. In the intervening months, opportunities arise that cannot wait for the next budget cycle.

Unrestricted giving to the Pioneer Fund allows Grinnell to take advantage of these opportunities.

Gifts also ensure that as the College's holdings in the endowment fluctuate in value, there are no short and medium-term impacts on students or the programs necessary for our world-class education.

For the current fiscal year 50% of these funds came from endowment spending, 27% from net tuition and fees, and 8% from the Pioneer Fund and government and private gifts and grants.

Everyone makes a difference.
