Every year, a profusion of rankings enthralls and mystifies high school students and their families. Rankings ostensibly provide objective guidance about academic reputation, affordability, and other supposed measures of college quality and accessibility. But what do they really tell you about choosing a college?

After Lucy Chechik '18 studied in Denmark last year, she couldn't wait to go back. She made it happen by securing a summer research internship at the University of Copenhagen.
