Former Grinnell College pitching star Gary Kahn '09 continues to make his mark in baseball overseas.
After playing in the top league in Sweden the past four months, Kahn has taken his talents to a league in South Africa. He signed a six-month contract to play for the Durbanville Villains of the Western Province Major League, which is the South African equivalent of Major League Baseball in the United States.

Gary Kahn '09, an All-Midwest Conference South Division pitcher for Grinnell College who now plays baseball overseas, is featured on the D3baseball.com Web site (Click here for Web site).
Kahn, from Cooper City, Fla., plays for the Karlskoga Bats of the Elitserien League in Sweden. The league is the highest level of professional baseball in Sweden, and Karlskoga won the 2007 Elitserien Cup and advanced to the title game last season.

Grinnell College shortstop Ben Mendoza '09 has been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Baseball Team.Mendoza, from Gallup, N.M., (Eldorado HS), was a Third Team selection. Grinnell College designated hitter Mike Nodzenski '12 (top) has been named the Midwest Conference South Division Positional Co-Player of the Year in a vote of league coaches.
Nodzenski, of Naperville, Ill. (Naperville North HS), was one of six Pioneers to earn a spot on the All-MWC South Division First Team. Grinnell had one Second Team selection.
