Community Service Program

Community Service at Grinnell 

Community Service at Grinnell is unique in that most projects are student initiated, led and organized.  This model empowers students to become socially responsible civic leaders who then educate their peers and the larger community about the issues,   organizations and people with whom they are working.   The students learn to collaborate and network with local, national and international organizations.  The Community Service Office aids in this networking, provides various resources for projects, facilitates reflection and offers mentoring for student service endeavors.  The office also serves as a resource for faculty as they work to include service in the classroom and for college employees who whish to lead or participate in service projects themselves.
