Discover Grinnell — Fall Semester
Every fall, we host two Discover Grinnell programs for high school seniors that allow you to spend the day exploring Grinnell’s academic and student life. You’ll have the chance to:
- Attend class.
- Tour campus.
- Interact with current students and other prospective students.
- Meet faculty and coaches.
- Learn about the application and admission process.
- Attend sessions on student life, the individually-advised curriculum, the First-Year Tutorial, study abroad, and research and internship opportunities.
Participants also have the chance to spend the night on campus. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot early.

In less than 18 months, you'll be a college student...but where?
Come find out if Grinnell College is the place for you! The program begins at 8 a.m. with check-in and a breakfast. The day will include class visits, campus tours and a session on academics, along with information on admission, financial aid and life beyond the classroom at Grinnell. The closing reception starts at 3 p.m. with athletic coaches, faculty, admission counselors and student organizations. We like to give our undivided attention on your visit but individual appointments are not able to be made through our office during this program. Admitted students are also invited to also attend.
Junior Visit Day Registration will be available later in the fall. Please contact the Office of Admission if you have any questions about visiting the campus.
Note: In April, class visits are reserved for admitted students with the exception of this visit program.

Admitted Student Programs
Experience Grinnell's endless possibilities at one of our Admitted Student Programs this spring. We're looking forward to welcoming you and your family to the Grinnell community.
No matter which program you attend, you'll be able to meet fellow admitted students, current students, professors, student life staff. You'll also have a chance to attend classes, tour the campus, eat in the dining hall, experience campus life, and meet with financial aid staff if needed.
For a total immersion in the Grinnell experience, you can stay overnight with a current Grinnell student in a residence hall (available on a first-come, first-served basis for admitted students only — parents should make reservations for other accommodations).
Registration for an admitted student program becomes available after admission decisions are made. The month of April is reserved especially for admitted students. If you are not able to attend an Admitted Student Program please register for an individual visit through the campus visit calendar.

Iowa Private College Week – August
Daily sessions at 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Iowa Private College Week (IPCW) is a week-long program for independent Iowa colleges and universities to invite prospective students and their families from any state or region to explore their campuses. It's a great time for prospective students to learn about the academic and social opportunities offered; meet with faculty, coaches, students and staff.
This year IPCW is held in August 2014. There are two sessions each day at 9 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Each session includes a welcome address, campus tour, admission/financial aid presentation, and panel discussions with Student Affairs staff, faculty and students.
You can register for this great opportunity online from our campus visit calendar, just head there now to select the date and session that works best for your schedule.
Once you've registered online you will receive a confirmation email from us at the email address you've provided. If you register through the Thinkindependently.com website you will receive an email confirmation from us in 3-5 business days.
Diversity Preview Program — Fall Semester
The Grinnell Diversity Preview Program offers you the chance to apply for a FREE trip to campus so you can discover your place at one the nation's top liberal arts colleges. The 2013 Diversity Preview Program will be held from October 6-8.
Program participants will:
- Stay overnight with a current student host
- Go on a tour of the Grinnell campus
- Attend classes
- Have an admission interview
- Attend an information session on admission and financial aid
- Meet campus leaders
- Have lunch with professors and admission staff
- Applicants must be high school seniors
- Student of color (African American, Latino, Asian, Native American) OR first in family to attend college
- Interest in liberal arts education (arts and humanities, mathematics and sciences, social sciences)
- Submit the Diversity Preview Program Application 2013 OR submit an application online.
- High school transcript with SAT/ACT
- Activities resumé
