Student Health and Counseling Services (SHACS)
SHACS offers health and mental health services to support your personal and academic growth and success at Grinnell. In addition to the immediate care you require, we also provide you with the tools and information you need to develop lifelong self-care and wellness habits. With the exception of at-cost fees for some medical tests, inoculations, and Plan B, all of our other services are free of charge.

Group Therapy: General therapy groups will be meeting on Wednesdays. Visit the group therapy webpage to see if it may be right for you.
Mindfulness: Research shows that there are numerous benefits to being present and living in the “now,’ such as stress reduction, increased focus, improved memory, and a greater sense of well-being. Learn how to engage in mindfulness and practice techniques at this weekly 30-minute gathering led by Paul Valencic, staff counselor at Student Health and Counseling Services.
