On leaving the front of Darby Gymnasium, the tour continues eastward beyond the Darby parking lot to a sidewalk that goes to the north. In the distance is the modern Physical Education Complex. As visitors proceed on this walk, they will see further to the east the Younker Memorial Health Center/Stonewall Resource Center. The building, which was constructed in 1957 and renovated 30 years later, is devoted to health services for students and to information and other resources on human sexuality and social interaction. The Younker Health Center, the Younker residence hall, and other resources at the College were the result of generous benefactions by Des Moines businessman and philanthropist Benjamin A. Younker and his family.
