- Center for Nanomarterials Research at Dartmouth College. 9-weeks; 3/13/08 is deadline.
- University of Kansas, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Summer REU.
- Hope College: Several science disciplines awarding stipends for summer research at Hope.
- RISE (Research In Science & Engineering) at Rutgers/UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). The research opportunities span biomedical, physical and behavioral sciences, math, and engineering.
- Global Change Education Program (GCEP), SURE program; research encompasses a variety of technical areas including atmospheric sciences, ecology, global carbon cycles, climate modeling, and terrestrial processes.
- University of South Alabama. Applicants must have completed two semester of Organic Chemistry. All the projects involve different aspects of "Structure and Fuction of Proteins". Deadline is 3/7/08.
- University of Alabama at Birmingham: 8-week program sponsored by the Departments of Environmental Health Sciences, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Medicine, Microbiology, Pathology, Physiology and Biophysics, and Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Center. Deadline is 3/14/08.
- The River Basins Research Initiative at Furman University, an interdisciplinary research program focused on the impact of urbanization on watershed processes in the piedmont region of South Carolina. Deadline is 3/14/08.
- North Dakota State University, departments of chemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences, vet and microbiological sciences, and biological sciences. Deadline is 3/15/08.
- North Dakota State University, Dept of Coatings and Polymeric Materials: projects in the areas of coatings and corrosion protection, weathering durability of coatings, film formation processes, synthesis of high performance polymers. Deadline is 3/31/08.
- Missouri State University. Deadline is 3/15/08.
- TIM Consortium: spread out over six campuses, each with two students working on problems related to Theoretically Interesting Molecules (TIM). The entire group of six faculty and 12 students will get together twice during the summer, once to spend a week at Chapel Hill for the Reaction Mechanisms Conference and again at the end of the summer to report on results. - Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey: Research in the RISE program spans the biomedical, physical and behavioral sciences, math, and engineering. 8- or 10-week experiences. Rolling admission begins at the end of January and is highly competitive.
- Rutgers University - Camden campus and Pinelands Field Station REU: a variety of different research areas (biochemistry, biophysics, botany, chemistry, ecology, evolution, microbiology, molecular biology, neurobiology and zoology). Contact information at their website. Deadline is 3/28/08.
- University of Nevada, Reno. Summer projects focused in broad areas of inorganic, organic, physical and theoretical chemistry. Deadline is 3/21/08.
- ITALY, UK, FRANCE: This ACS/IREU program allows US citizens or residents currently enrolled at a US institution to carry out a 10-week paid research internship at one of the following institutions: CPE-Lyon, University of Perugia, University of Strathclyde. Deadline extended till 3/10/08.
- Auburn University: NSF-REU on Biosensors. This multi-disciplinary, multi-departmental REU program is open to all undergraduates enrolled in Biology, Chemistry, and Engineering. Deadline is 3/24/08.
