Time Management

Tutoring three hours a week takes more than three hours! Please make sure to schedule an appropriate amount of time to preparing for the drill sessions. You will be paid for three hours of prep time, so be sure to set aside three full hours of prep time. In addition, you will need to attend meetings. Be sure to plan these into your schedule, for you will be paid if you attend. If, for any reason, you struggle with this level of time commitment, please let me know as soon as possible.

Preparing for sessions

In order to prepare for the tutoring sessions, it is important, first
and foremost, to make sure that all the students are keeping apace with the syllabus.Prepare also by making your practice sessions as fun as possible. Gather realia
-real world objects, usually from the target culture and that relate to
the lesson- and visual aids to use in the classroom. Plan on a variety
of activities, from warm-up repetitive drills, to substitution drills,
to dialogue recitation, to learning games, to role-playing and
open-ended questioning. We will develop a repertoire of activities as a
tutoring group in our boot camp and group sessions.
