A. B. 1983, Colgate University (with honors in chemistry).
Ph.D. 1987, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Postdoctoral Fellow 1987-89, Northwestern Univ.

Research
Professor Lyons’ research interests center around a class of materials called polymer electrolytes which are ion conducting polymeric solids. The topic encompasses polymer synthesis and characterization as well as the application of electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques to determine and understand ion transport in polymeric materials.
