Summer internships go global for Grinnell students

From Quito to Omaha, Taiwan to D.C.

Internships are taking Grinnell students around the globe this summer—from the U.S. Senate Office Building to urban farms, from the Center for Bioethics to the Center for Constitutional Rights, from desert research in Namibia to the Kaibab National Forest in Arizona. A generous Grinnell funding program means most interns receive a stipend in addition to the resume-building work experience. Here’s a look at a few of the summer work sites, courtesy of the interns themselves.

Phyllis Frimpong '12 at internship in Namibia
Jonathan Ismail '12 interning at Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha
Jake Joseph '11 interning with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
Alison Liu '13 teaching English in Taiwan
Marianne Olney-Hamel '11 interns in Kaibab National Forest
Juan Carlos Perez '11 interning in Quito, Ecuador
