The overarching goal of the Creative Media Initiative is to establish an effective collaboration of services related to pedagogical uses of media. We hope to connect faculty and students with the people, spaces, and tools that will assist and enable them to create new media and make effective use of existing media for teaching and learning.
People
The Creative Media Initiative relies on participation and cooperation from a number of offices including Curricular Technology, the Library, the AV Center, and Information Technology Services.
Places
There are a number of spaces dispersed across campus that support media creation and engagement. The AV Center, on the 2nd floor of ARH, provides spaces for small group viewing and advanced video/audio editing as well as checkout of cameras, microphones, etc. The Creative Computing Lab in the Forum provides equipment for basic and advanced video/audio edting. The Listening Room, on the lower-level of Burling Library, provides access to the college's collection of media items and individual listening/viewing stations.
