Biology

• Summer Internships in Biology: This website lists several opportunities for summer research. The programs listed are offered through universities throughout the country. The research areas include biomedical research, ecology and environmental studies, marine biology, as well as other biology opportunities. • University of Wyoming Bioinformatics and Computational Molecular Biology Undergraduate Summer Research Program.

Chemistry

• Caltech Amgen Scholars program, some of the fields include biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical and biomolecular engineering, and chemistry.
• Cal tech MURF undergraduate research fellowship.
• Department of Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati will again be hosting our REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) for the summer of 2013.
• ORNL is the largest science and energy laboratory in the Department of Energy system.
• The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sponsors a 10-week summer internship program for rising juniors and seniors majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) disciplines.

• The Computing Community Consortium has recently developed a site called "URO (Undergraduate Research Opportunities) Zone" that is intended to help students find summer research programs.

• Hope College is hosting a Computer Science NSF REU summer undergraduate research program.

• LearnLab, a Science of Learning Center funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
• Nebraska's summer program offers research opportunities in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
• Ohio Wesleyan University announces the seventh year of its NSF-funded REU program in scientific computation.
• The University of Wyoming is proud to offer summer research opportunities to external undergraduate students.

Engineering

• Caltech Amgen Scholars program, some of the fields include biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical and biomolecular engineering, and chemistry.
• Energy research internships: three locations of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), owned and operated by the US Department of Energy.
• IBM summer research internship program for under-represented minorities.

Environmental Science

• UNDERC-East (University of Notre Dame): spend one summer conducting your own field research in environmental biology in this Northwoods site in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Two-summer program also available, with second spent in an intermountain valley site in Montana.
• International REU Site Program in Ghana (Virginia Tech, NSF-REU), at University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Ecology, environmental science and conservation biology in tropical sub-Sahara Africa.

Mathematics

• National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) A list of REUs funded by the NSF Department of Mathematical Sciences.
• The American Mathematical Society (AMS) has a list of REUs that may not be included in the NSF list above.
• The Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) also provides a list of research opportunites for undergraduates.
• Research on Industrial Projects for Students, run by UCLA's Institue for Pure and Applied Mathematics, organizes undergraduates into teams to work on problems from industry. RIPS takes place in Los Angeles and Hong Kong.
• The National Institute of Standards and Technology hosts the interdiscipinary Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). There are excellent opportunities in applied mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Double majors with physics, biological sciences, boichemistry, or chemistry might find these project especially intriguing.

• Rutgers hosts a family of REUs with one program open to international students.

Medicine
