WILLIAM FERGUSON

William Ferguson, Professor, earned a B.A. from Grinnell. He also holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Massachusetts. He teaches courses on labor economics, macroeconomic analysis, political economy, and game theory. Most of his publications concern theories of implicit bargaining power in employment relationships or relationships between wage growth and productivity in the US economy. More recent papers concern integrating contemporary economic theory into the undergraduate curriculum along with a game-theoretic model on the relation between social stigma and the transmission of HIV. He is currently working on a book, Collective-Action and Exchange: A Game-Theoretic Approach to Contemporary Political Economy, for Stanford University Press.
