Nancy Hayes, assistant professor, has a B.A. from University of Illinois and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Her primary responsibilities are in the elementary program where she teaches literacy and social studies methods and supervises student teachers. She also teaches sections of Principles of Education in a Pluralistic Society. Nancy has K-12 teaching experience in lower elementary bilingual classrooms, and her research interests are in the areas of literacy as social practice and ESL.
