The Grinnell Arabic program offers four semesters of instruction in Modern Standard Arabic. All four courses focus on both language and culture. Independent study is available at the advanced level. Students also have the option of doing a Mentored Advanced Project (MAP), a capstone experience that culminates in the production of original work at the advanced level.  Students can supplement their study of Arabic with courses such as Media and Developing Events in the Middle East, Gender and Islam, and History of the Modern Middle East.
