Andrea Magermans, Assistant Professor in French, holds a BA from Washington University in St Louis, an MA from New York University, and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her dissertation research concentrated on female epistolary writing in the 18th century, both in fiction and in personal correspondence. In addition to letter writing, her research interests include early modern conceptions of the Self and the Other, travel narratives, and the evolution of the novel.
