French House is a student-run housing co-operative in which French majors and others interested in French and Francophone studies live together with the French Assistant in a French environment.
The house is connected to the French television station TV5 and to Radio France Internationale, which provide programs and news from France and other francophone countries.
The students at French House organize campus-wide events and activities, such as a French film series and a food-tasting evening. They also host informal soirées with francophone visiting guests. Recent visitors include the following:
- Philippe Manière, journalist from Le Point (French weekly magazine)
- Daniel Vernet, journalist from Le Monde (French daily newspaper)
- Didier Rousselet and Monica Neagoy, directors of Le Néon (a Washington based Franco-American theatre company)
