Student Educational Policy Committee
Each department at Grinnell has a Student Educational Policy Committee. An SEPC is a group of students who work with the department to coordinate activities for students and faculty. Other responsibilities include sending a representative to the Student Council on Curriculum (SCC) and helping in the review process for new and tenure track professors. The German SEPC is open to all German majors, as well as non-majors who are active in the department. In case of questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The current co-chairs of German SEPC are Lea Greenberg ’14 and Eleanor Price ’14.
Throughout the Fall 2011 semester, the German SEPC held monthly film nights and showed movies ranging Gegen die Wand to Krabat. SEPC movie nights are open to all students. Films are shown with English subtitles for the benefit of those who do not speak German. We also organized a trip to the Amana Colonies for Oktoberfest. Over 50 students, majors and non-majors, participated in the trip.
During the Spring 2012 semester, the German SEPC has continued to host movies every month. In March, we showed Das Experiment. In addition, SEPC participated in the interview process for a new tenure-track faculty member.
