Lisa Bowers Isaacson Lisa Bowers Isaacson, adjunct professor of history and assistant site director, first visited London in 1979 as a student on the Grinnell-in-London program. Her enthusiasm for the modern city and its history has led to graduate research in the development of 17th- and 18th-century London (Ph.D., Princeton 1992) and residence in London since 1987. She has taught for Grinnell in London since 1995 and has also taught English history-particularly London history and Tudor England-for several American universities in London. An active member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), she also has an interest in the history of Quakers in London. No Londoner can hope to take advantage of all the theatre, concerts, exhibitions, restaurants and events this city has to offer, but it is so rewarding to try!
