Theater Intern

In my internship I am being given the opportunity to work in a number of aspects of the theatre world. From front of house box office to assistant stage-managing, the small, intimate nature of the playhouse means everyone does everything. This fall they are mounting a production which I will see from conception to press night. I will help with acquiring and building properties and costumes as well as work with the set and lighting designers to bring their concepts to life. I will also see the administrative way that a professional British theatre functions, specifically the importance of publicity and catering to the local press.
