Michelle Kass Associates is a small literary agency with only two full-time agents who specialize in fiction and screenplays with a unique narrative style or tone. This internship provides you with a general sense of the workings of literary agencies in the UK just by spending time in the office. The job is very reading intensive as one of your primary tasks will be to read published and potential works of clients. Basic research on topics such as "possible foreign publishers," may also be asked of you. Other tasks are primarily secretarial. This internship provides great opportunity to meet some truly wonderful creative talent in the book and film world and experience some truly unique events. During my internship I met award-winning authors such as Patrick Ness, attended a seminar on the future of low-budget film-making, and previewed the movie Twilight alongside the president of its international distribution company a month before its UK release. - Molly Rideout '10, GIL 2008 Intern
