Who & What is Queer Studies at Grinnell?

The Queer Studies Cluster at Grinnell College is an interdisciplinary group of faculty and staff with shared interests in queer theory, sexuality and LGBTIQAA issues in teaching, research, and service.

Our Mission

The goal of the Queer Studies Cluster is to create an interdisciplinary institutional space that buttresses existing strengths while fostering the growth, ensuring the future vitality, and encouraging the critical impulse of queer studies at Grinnell College. The cluster exists to:

  • Support faculty and staff who teach, organize and conduct research related to queer studies
  • Develop courses, interdisciplinary collaborations and programming related to queer studies
  • Map for students, faculty, and staff the terrain of academic history, current opportunities and resources associated with queer studies at Grinnell College and beyond.
