Professor
Before joining the Grinnell faculty in 1978, Andrew Hsieh received his education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Kyoto University (Japan), and Yale University. He is currently professor of Chinese and Japanese history at the colllege, and also holds concurrent professorships at Nanjing University and Anhui University in the People's Republic of China. Mr. Hsieh's research interest lies in the social and intellectual history of late imperial China. In addition to teaching, he enjoys gardening and travel.
