THE JAPAN EXCHANGE AND TEACHING (JET) PROGRAM Now in its 15th year, the JET Program provides a unique opportunity for college graduates to learn about international relations while immersed in the Japanese culture. This highly respected Japanese government-sponsored program is now seeking applications for qualified and enthusiastic applicants. Participants serve as either Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) in local public schools or boards of education, or as Coordinators for International Relations (CIR) in local or prefectural government offices. There is no Japanese language requirement for ALTs, however, applicants must receive their diplomas prior to June 30, 2002 to be eligible. Deadline for applications is December 5, 2001.
