Our staff works together as a team to promote our philosophy and mission statement. The Director and Assistant Teacher are required to maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid training, and mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training. Grinnell College Student Assistants receive Staff Training Handbooks, emergency procedure training, and training provided by the Director related to policies, child development and early childhood education. The Grinnell College Preschool is supervised by the Grinnell College Psychology Department; Dr. Ann Ellis is the direct supervisor of the program.

The Grinnell College Preschool is on the west side of Park Street, midway between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue. There is a wooden fence surrounding the building and playground.
Entrance from alley
Please enter the alley behind the preschool from the south (7th Avenue) and go north (8th Avenue) to cut down on traffic congestion. Please do not park on the grass, block in any cars in the parking lot, or block the driveways in the alley.

Playground

Grinnell College Preschool meets the physical needs of children by providing an outdoor play area with equipment and toys to help your child develop motor and social skills in organized and informal play opportunities. Children will go outside every day, weather permitting.
