Scholarly Activities:

  • During my sabbatical in 1996-1997, I co-directed, with Kent McClelland, an ethnographic study of a local human-services agency, Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA). This study is funded under an "Early Head Start" Health and Human Services grant for 1995-1997. We are interested in MICA's success in transforming itself into a "learning organization" despite the difficult environment for non-profit social service agencies.
