Judy Hunter
Director of the Writing Laboratory; Lecturer
Judy Hunter has worked in the Lab since 1976. In her spare time, she plays tennis, reads, and serves on the Grinnell-Newburg School Board.

Janet Carl
Assistant in the Writing Laboratory; Lecturer
Janet Carl received her BA (sociology and psychology) and MA (education) from the University of Iowa, and she is a former Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Grinnell as well as a former Iowa state legislator. She enjoys writing children's articles and the occasional essay.

Kevin Crim
Assistant in the Writing Laboratory; Lecturer
Kevin Crim has worked in the Lab since 1974. He long ago passed the point at which books are easier to buy than read.

Claire Moisan
Assistant in the Writing Laboratory; Lecturer
Claire has taught in the Lab for three years. While her graduate degree is in French literature, she now enjoys helping improve students' English prose.

Tom Simmons
Assistant in the Writing Laboratory; Lecturer
Tom Simmons suffered a catastrophic motorcycle accident in California in December 1987. Since then, he has completed a Ph.D. at UC Berkeley and has been an instructor or professor at Stanford, UC Berkeley, MIT, and the University of Iowa. He's still trying to figure out if all of these events are causally related. Meanwhile he writes books and tries to help his students with Page One.

Helyn Wohlwend
Assistant in the Writing Laboratory; Lecturer
Helyn received her BA in theatre from Westmar College and has a master degree in process at the University of Iowa. She is new to the Lab, but has worked with academic writers for the past twenty years.
