The Writing Lab offers assistance on how to write effective academic essays, for which Grinnell faculty have established writing outcomes, and prewriting strategies.  These guidelines will be useful in any academic writing.

 

The Writing Lab also provides guides to specific types of academic writing, including: the five-paragraph essay, scientific papers, book reviews, grant proposals, op-eds/letters to the editor, posters, oral presentations, resumés, and personal statements.
