Grinnell College is proud that over 10% of the residence hall rooms are assigned as gender neutral. This option is offered in all areas of campus (and in traditional residence hall rooms, houses, and apartments).The Office of Admission is able to offer gender neutral housing to prospective students when traditional, same sex room assignment is not ideal. This may include prospective student that opt to make connections to a Grinnell community where the gender binary is not perpetuated.
Prospective students will need to submit a request for gender neutral housing in the appropriate space in the online visit requst form or contact the Office of Admission visit coordnator. All on-campus overnight requests will be honored in the order received. The Office of Admission will make every attempt to accommodate requests however there may be occasions when we are unable to fulfill expressed request.
