Becca Grinnell Weekends

You might think that weekends at college are a time to relax –– you would be happily mistaken. Weekends at Grinnell entail so many activities and fun things to do that Monday usually arrives before you've had a chance to sample everything.

You might spend Friday night doing homework, hanging out with friends, seeing a concert on south campus, seeing a movie in town, or going out to dinner. My favorite way to spend Friday night is usually dinner with friends and then either homework or a movie. There's usually a scheduled movie showing on campus or game night to go to. This past Halloween weekend for example, I spent Friday night carving pumpkins with friends, and going to the haunted house on campus, which was totally awesome.

On Saturday afternoons I usually try to support the athletic teams, cheering them on at home games or meets. When track season starts I usually spend most of the day competing. Saturday nights usually have a themed party in the Harris Center. Almost everyone stops by at least for a few minutes and even if you decide to not dress up, it's always fun to see other people's outfits and listen to some good music. You can also usually catch a showing of a campus play or a musical performance.

After a busy Saturday night, I usually spend Sundays doing homework, relaxing with friends and preparing for the week.
