It's not hard to make Grinnell weekends into something great. More often than not people have sleepovers, go to karaoke, or even go bowling, if that's more up your alley (excuse the bad pun). There are so many things to do and if you think there's something missing, it's not that hard to get new activities started. For me, my weekends don't feel complete without playing Xbox with some friends and although I could have done that on my own, I had a feeling there were more people on campus who'd want to get in on that, and so the video game club, LAGG (League of Amazing Grinnell Gamers) was born.
What do I do? What don't I do? I spend the earlier hours of the Friday, Saturday and Sunday doing schoolwork and then the rest watching movies, playing Nerf, partying at Harris, playing video games and hanging out with friends ... there's always so much to get done on the weekend.
What have I done? I've spent one Saturday horse-back riding, thanks to GORP (Grinnell Outdoor Recreation Program). I've spent hours playing tennis, shooting pool and playing table tennis. I've even spent a whole day sleeping ... some awesome sleep.
What I like about my weekends? 1) With a few good friends, you can do basically nothing and still have an amazing time. I've spent whole weekends dancing in my dorm room with my roommate and have had nothing to complain about and 2) I get to catch up on some of the greatest, most relaxing, most anticipated sleep of the week (I can't emphasize that enough!).
