As administrative assistant to Joe Bagnoli, vice president for enrollment, I spend much of my time crunching numbers for internal and external constituents, developing and administering the operational budget, assisting with information systems, and delving into the deep recesses of my many years at Grinnell (21 years!) to provide historical perspectives (and a certain amount of levity) to the many questions asked by my colleagues. Meeting and working with so many wonderful colleagues from all corners of the country is one of the very best things about working at Grinnell (even if they do ask a lot of questions).
I grew up on a small farm about an hour away from Grinnell and received a B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in those crazy '70s. I followed my husband, who was a high school band director for 33 years, from one Iowa school to another and finally landed in Grinnell in 1990. In my spare time, I serve as the Vice President of the Grinnell Area Arts Council and play trumpet in the Grinnell Municipal Band. My husband and I are the proud parents of one daughter, Samantha, who will be 25 in December and is just beginning a graduate program in arts administration.
