What I Do
Meet and work with awesome students in Iowa and other Midwestern states (Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Michigan). Coordinate all of the Office of Admission's large campus events and group visit days, including Discover Grinnell in the fall and our admitted student days in the spring, as well as the individual visit program. Oversee scholarships for Iowa students, including the Bowen, Rosenfield, and J.B. Grinnell scholarships. Support and advise student staff – our amazing overnight host coordinators and senior interviewers! Teach spin class through the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Volunteer at the Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS). Spend time with my new husband and our family and friends.
What I Did
Grew up in Irvine, California and spent my whole life in Southern California until I moved to Grinnell. Graduated from Chapman University. Majored in communication studies and minored in leadership, and was also very involved in my sorority and as an orientation assistant (which ultimately led me to choose higher ed as a career!). Worked for Chapman after graduation as the graduate assistant for orientation programs. Earned my M.E. in postsecondary education and student affairs at the University of Southern California, where I worked as a graduate assistant in Orientation Programs, Greek Life, Residential Education, and Transfer Student Services.
What I Love
My husband Dan (we just got married!). Family. Friends. Dogs! (I love fostering dogs from PALS). Travel ... I've been lucky enough to visit Libya, Oman, and the United Arab Emeriates, as well as a number of places in Europe, and I love domestic travel, too. Dessert. Shopping, especially for clothes (Nordstrom, J.Crew, Banana, outlets!).
