Where are you from originally and what do you like most about living in Grinnell?

I am originally from Orange County, California and most recently lived in Los Angeles before moving to Grinnell. Although moving to Grinnell was a huge culture shock, I absolutely love the small town community and charm. It is refreshing to walk across campus or town and see my colleagues, friends, and students.

What do you like to do in your free time?

During my free time I like to travel, participate in Grinnell community events, and spend time with family and friends. I volunteer at the Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS) working with the dogs, and teach spin classes at the local fitness studio. These opportunities have allowed me to get to know community members outside of the college and work with adorable puppies every week! I am also fortunate to have traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East, but have recently spent more time visiting friends around the U.S.

What do you like most about Grinnell students?

I am consistently impressed by the caliber of students who attend Grinnell. Students here are passionate, intelligent, mature, and pursue incredibly diverse interests at Grinnell and beyond, despite their major or career choice. Grinnell students work extremely hard to be successful and push themselves to continuously grow; but they know how to balance their time and make sure to have fun and relax! I enjoy getting to know the students because I am guaranteed to learn something new and have interesting conversations!
