Favorite Class - Introduction to Philosophy with Alan Schrift. The combination of an insightful, talkative class and Professor Schrift's 'amazing'-ness made every class session extremely interesting and sometimes mind-blowing. Of course, I've only been at Grinnell for a year, so I'm sure I will encounter tons of classes that will change the way I think like Philosophy did.
What is the best thing about Grinnell? The people. When people ask me “Why Grinnell”, I always have the same answer: If thousands of smart and talented individuals decide to attend Grinnell College every year despite the fact that its in the middle of nowhere, it really tells you a lot about the types of people that come here.
What is the worst thing about Grinnell? It’s a tie between the weather and the location. The winters here are sometimes just too damn cold. (I'm from the equator, give me a break!). And Grinnell, IA is a very small town.
Why did you choose Grinnell? The perfect combination of top notch academics in a small liberal arts setting with a great social scene and a friendly open environment.
What should every prospective student know? Grinnell is what you make of it. I hope you make it the best 4 years of your life academically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. In the one year here I've already grown as a human being and I hope you do too.
What is your favorite Grinnell memory? There are too many to count! Lazing about on Cleveland beach on a sunny Sunday afternoon, all the crazy parties every weekend, chilling out with my buddies on a weekday night after hours of hard schoolwork and so many more.
