So long, high school. Hello, college!

At Grinnell, academic life is intense and active. Learning occurs in small classes and one-on-one interactions between diverse students and a prestigious faculty. You will work with a dedicated adviser to tailor a unique academic path, allowing you to take advantage of any and every aspect of our broad curriculum. As a chemistry major, you may take the American Prose English seminar. Theatre majors have been known to dabble in political science. There are no core requirements and thus, no limits.

But Grinnell is more than this. You don't just learn with your fellow students—you live together too, in a truly remarkable, self-governing community. On any given day, you'll find students rehearsing for acting class outside Bucksbaum. The cross-country team may streak naked through the dining hall as spectators cheer. Or you'll greet new friends, dressed to the nines to attend weekly all-campus parties like Underwear Ball or Disco. The quirky Grinnell community gives context to the individual. You may stay up all night to work on a paper or dance the night away, but you can be sure you won't do it alone.

We encourage you to explore our widely varying courses, student groups, athletics, theatrics, and the lovely town of Grinnell. Find out what fields alumni enter, why Iowa is more than cornfields, and where you will fit in to the Grinnell community.
