The Office of International Student Services offers a separate orientation program to international students when they arrive for their first year at Grinnell. Orientation includes get-acquainted sessions, small group discussions, and informal workshops to help students build support systems, create a network of friends, and develop an academic schedule.
Ongoing support is also available to international students. Among the office's programs are: immigration regulations advising, the Host Family Program, a newsletter, international speakers, and an international discussion forum.
The International Student Organization sponsors social and educational events designed to promote international understanding and friendship among international and U.S. students. Personal and cross-cultural counseling and advising services are available as well.
