Alisha Saville '09, Editor in Chief
Hi! My name is Alisha Saville, and I’m a third year Psychology major from Carbondale, IL. The social sciences, outdoors, and arts are my passions, but in terms of extracurricular activities and general interests I’m game for just about anything that grabs my attention. My time at Grinnell has been a patchwork of various activities, from Swing Society, ASIA, and Alternative Break to Ultimate Frisbee, the S&B, and occasional prairie restoration trips, but my explorations aren't over yet! Also, a decent portion of my time is spent at the Career Development Office as a student assistant. Right now there exists a world of possibilities where future plans are concerned, but I hope my interests in health, cross-cultural studies, conflict transformation, community development, and writing will give me some direction. I am incredibly excited to have Macaela Holmes ’10 editing with me this semester, and I hope you enjoy reading the stories that Grinnell students have to share!
Macaela Holmes '10, Assistant Editor
My name is Macaela Holmes; I am a second-year Sociology major. I was born and raised in Breckenridge, Colorado (yes, I did leave the beautiful Rocky Mountains to experience Iowa; luckily, Grinnell has been worth every windy, cold, flat morning walk to class!). I am a student advisor on Younker second and am an active member of the Student Alumni Association. Many of my involvements are with the Office of College and Alumni Relations as a reunion worker, student receptionist, and Phonathon student manager. I enjoy watching Grinnell sporting events, especially football. As a “Grinnell Chip” (my dad is Bill “Scarff” Holmes ’80), I know my Grinnell education and experience is shaping the person I am becoming. My future plans are still much undecided; hopefully my interests in event-planning, people watching, and travel will direct me towards something!
