This talk will explore three distinct Muslim attitudes toward Judaism and Christianity as
represented by three contemporary Muslim thinkers: Abul Ala Mawdudi, Ismail
al-Faruqi, and Seyyed Hossein Nasr. Al-Faruqi was Gates Lecturer in 1973 and Nasr
was Gates Lecturer in 1994.
Harold Kasimow, George Drake Professor of Religious Studies, has taught at the College since 1972.
His research and publications focus on relations among religions. His latest book on
Pope John Paul II has recently been translated into Polish. Kasimow is currently
completing a book titled Leaves from the Bodhi Tree: Stories of Practicing Jews and
Christians. It is coedited with John and Linda Klepinger '65 Keenan.
