Since its inception in 2000, the Student Alumni Association (SAA) has taken a path to connect students to alumni of the College. In doing so, current students have and continue to benefit from the "Life After Grinnell" knowledge of the alumni and the alumni are able to keep connected to campus and all of its happenings through perceptions of the current students. This is reflected in the mission statement of SAA:

The SAA is an organization that strives to instill in students a lifelong connection to Grinnell. SAA sponsored programs will facilitate interaction between students and alumni, raise student awareness about Grinnell's history and traditions, and help students confidently transition into the professional arena upon graduation, ultimately making the Grinnell experience more positive and rewarding.
