Your class committee is responsible for maintaining connections between your
classmates and Grinnell College. Class committee members build and strengthen a
network of philanthropic and engaged classmates serving the greater
good of Grinnell College. Working together, members make peer-to-peer
contacts and set an example for their classmates through their own
participation in alumni activities and philanthropy. Committee members
include the Asa Turner chair, class agent, and class fund director.
Being part of a class commitee means offering 5-10 hours per month for committee conference calls, contacting classmates, and asking for philanthropic support for the Pioneer Fund.
Class committe members are also expected to attend the fall Volunteer Weekend in the two years preceding Reunion and the year after Reunion, as the class committee will have specfic work to complete for the good of the class.
Class committee members have three primary responsibilities.
First, in the months leading up to your Reunion, they work to generate
interest, excitement, and anticipation in attending reunion. Second, the
committee members work with their class fund director in soliciting their
classmates. Finally, committee members assist the class agent in outreach
to strengthen class engagement through peer-to-peer connections.
