The Grinnell College football team will finish up its 2009 campaign Saturday with a contest at Beloit College. Game time is noon.
Grinnell is 2-6 in the Midwest Conference and 2-7 overall following a 38-17 home setback to Ripon College last Saturday. In that contest, Mike McCabe '13 threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns while Kelsey Davis '12 caught five passes for 123 yards. Robert Seer '12 had three catches for 112 yards.
Defensively, Marquis Bradley '11 had 16 tackles, Ryan Boehm '10 came up with 12, Kyle Lobaugh '10 added 11 and Ryan Fletcher '11 tallied 10.
For the season, McCabe has completed 85-of-186 passes for 1,128 yards and 11 touchdowns. Seer has 46 catches for 756 yards and 12 scores, while Logan Granera '12 has 37 catches for 313 yards.
John Hereford '10 leads the MWC in tackles with 108, while Bradley and Fletcher are also in the top 10 with 87 and 73, respectively.
Beloit enters the game at 4-4 in the league and 5-4 in all contests. Quarterback Brian Maughn has completed 150-of-264 passes for 2,325 yards and 16 touchdowns. His primary targets have been Julian Ross, who has 47 catches for 854 yards and six touchdowns, and Andy Christensen, who has 39 catches for 571 yards and four scores.
Defensively, Tony Baratti is second in the league behind Hereford in tackles with 100. Vince Salucci has 58 stops and Matt Fogerty has 50.
