Skip Tredway '73 is carried into the Hall of Fame by his impressive record on the golf course, both before and after graduation. While here at Grinnell, he was elected the team's Most Valuable Player in 1971, 1972, and 1973. He qualified for the National Small College Championships each of those years while leading the Pioneers to the team portion of the meet in 1973. Tredway was the Midwest Conference men's golf individual champion in 1971 and 1972, and helped his team win the Midwest Conference Team Championship in 1973. Tredway's record becomes even more impressive after graduation; he was able to take his passion for golf and turn it into a career. He began by winning the 1979 Colorado PGA Championship, and moved on to become a PGA Tour member from 1980-81. Next, he won the Rocky Mountain Open two years in a row (1982-83) and qualified for the U.S. Open-Pebble Beach in 1982. In 1984, he was named the Colorado PGA Professional Golfer of the Year. In 1998, Tredway was named the Iverness-Evans Scholar Champi on, and he was also the Nebraska PGA Senior Champion in 2003. In addition to claiming membership on 17 Cup teams in Iowa, Colorado, and Nebraska, Tredway's record also boasts wins at five Nebraska PGA Team Championships (1994, 1997, 1999, 2002, and 2003). Finally, Tredway is a 12-time qualifier for the National PGA Championship, and a five-time qualifier for the National PGA Senior Championships. Tredway lives in Omaha, where he is in his 10th year as a teaching professional for an Omaha golf club.
