Interim Head Coach David N. Arseneault
David N. Arseneault '09 is certainly no stranger to the Grinnell College men's basketball program. After all, he grew up around it since his father was the head coach and went on to enjoy a record-breaking career for the Pioneers.
He is serving as interim head coach during the second semester of the 2011-12 campaign as his father and head coach, David Arseneault, takes a semester's sabbatical leave granted by the college.
Arseneault was a three-time finalist for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award while finishing as the NCAA Division III all-time leader in career assists average with 9.4 per game. As a junior, Arseneault etched his name into the record books when his 34-assist performance against North Central (Minn.) shattered the NCAA record, regardless of level. In his final season, he led the nation in assists per game (10.2) and was third in assists-to-turnover ratio (3.0). He ranks eighth on the Pioneers' all-time scoring chart with 1,462 points.
Arseneault has also served as assistant softball and football coach for the Pioneers in recent years.
