The Grinnell College men’s basketball team finished its pre-winter break slate with a perfect mark Saturday afternoon, as the Pioneers halted Carroll University 103-89 in Midwest Conference play at Darby Gymnasium.

The victory sent Grinnell to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the league, while Carroll fell to 2-4 in all games and 1-3 in the MWC.

The Grinnell College men’s basketball moved to a perfect 7-0 on the season with an 85-68 victory over Knox College Wednesday at Galesburg, Ill.

The Pioneers, who improved to 3-0 in the Midwest Conference, got team-high outputs of 21 points from Jesse Ney ’13 and Griffin Lentsch ’13. Ney hit 6-of-10 3-pointers in the game.

The Grinnell College men’s basketball team is off to its best start since the 2003-04 campaign after disposing of Ripon College 125-103 in a battle of unbeatens Saturday afternoon at Darby Gymnasium.

With the aid of a balanced scoring attack that saw six Pioneers tally in double figures, Grinnell improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the Midwest Conference.

Grinnell College guard Griffin Lentsch ’13 is featured in the “Faces in the Crowd” section of the Dec. 5 issue of Sports Illustrated.

The Grinnell College men’s basketball team remained perfect on the season Saturday, beating host William Penn University 150-137 at the Pizza Ranch Classic in Oskaloosa.

Griffin Lentsch ’13 scored a team-high 29 points for the winners, who are 4-0 on the season.
