The run-and-gun system implemented by the Grinnell College men's basketball team has made national headlines in recent years.
That trend has continued via SI.com, Sports Illustrated's Web site, which recently named Pioneers' coach David Arseneault as an innovator in the game of basketball. The group of 10 innovators also includes the likes of John Calipari of Memphis, Bo Ryan of Wisconsin, Roy Williams of North Carolina and Mike Krzyzewski of Duke.
The Web site describes Arseneault's system as a "crazed version of the run-and-gun game" and "stipulates the ball be shot within 12 seconds of each possession - preferably on a three-point attempt created off of a dribble drive."
