Peter Marsho ’12 led the Grinnell College men’s golf team at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational that wrapped up Saturday.
Marsho shot a 5-over-par 77 on Saturday after recording a 78 on Friday for a two-day score of 155. That tied him for 27th place.
Jared Dye ’12 improved on his round of 88 with an 80 on Saturday for a 168. That put him in a tie for 85th.
Jimmy Borrasso ’12 had an 84 and 87 for a two-day score of 171, good for 98th place, while Chris Marsho ’14 tied for 100th after going 89-84-173. Ian Luby ’13 finished with a 175, shooting 92 and 83, to tie for 105th.
Wes Hillen of Millikin won the tournament with a 1-under-par 143, shooting 71 on Friday and 72 on Saturday.
Grinnell was 20th in the team standings with a 663, just one shot behind Elmhurst College.
St. Francis University of Illinois and Nebraska Wesleyan both shot 602s, but St. Francis won the title on a tie-breaker. Carthage College was close behind at 603.
The Pioneers compete at the Wartburg College Invitational next weekend.
