Grinnell College’s men’s swimming team captured four event titles during a dual meet with Connecticut College Tuesday at Naples, Fla.

Winners for the Pioneers were Michael Brus ’14 in the 200-yard individual medley (1:58.54) and 500 freestyle (4:46.51), Beck Ringdahl-Mayland ’13 in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.38) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Gus Fulgoni ’15, Thomas Lankiewicz ’12, Brus and Marco Fulgoni ’12 (1:29.38).

Runners-up for Grinnell were Joe Lytle ’14 in the 100 freestyle (49.87), Gus Fulgoni in the 50 freestyle (22.30), Emanuel Spooner ’12 in the 100 butterfly (55.81) and the 200 medley relay team of Lytle, Ringdahl-Mayland, Austin Cote ’15 and Gus Fulgoni (1:39.70).

Individuals taking third for Grinnell were Dylan Gray ’14 in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.15), Lankiewicz in the 200 freestyle (1:50.92), Marco Fulgoni in the 50 freestyle (22.70) and Michael Schoelz ’12 in the 100 freestyle (50.18).

The Pioneers were also third the 200 medley relay with James Kent ’14, Gray, Spooner and Jerry Brown ’14 (1:43.00) and 200 freestyle relay with Cote, Brown, Schoelz and Ethan Drutchas ’13 (1:32.10).

Placing fourth were Lytle in the 200 freestyle (1:51.44), Brown in the 50 freestyle (23.06), Gray in the 200 individual medley (2:07.96), Drutchas in the 100 freestyle (50.80), Kent in the 100 backstroke (59.04) and Lankiewicz in the 500 freestyle (5:01.60).

Connecticut College won the meet 113-92.

The Pioneers are in action on Jan. 20-21 when they host the Grinnell Invitational at Russell K. Osgood Pool.
